Victoria’s Secret seems to have an ubiquitous influence on the commercialization and mainstream feminine experience of many American women. It can be found almost everywhere in major shopping malls across the United States. It’s likely that every young woman has purchased her first bra here in her life. Just like its products, the Victoria’s Secret stores are also beautifully decorated, sweet and pink; the dim lighting creates an alluring atmosphere, with layers of display stands featuring three $30 pieces of underwear, resembling cotton-blend wedding cakes. The glamorous and modern Rococo-style decoration fully embodies the concept of “accessible luxury”.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is usually a dazzling runway show, resembling a circus performance. Supermodels, pop stars, and all kinds of luxurious lingerie that are simply out of reach are present. There are also magnificent wings that are so wide that they can’t even fit through the bedroom door. However, after the shooting of this year’s show ended, there was a strong backlash due to the lack of transgender models. The company’s chief marketing officer, Ed Lazerick, was asked by Vogue magazine whether the company should follow the trends of the fashion industry and become more inclusive. He responded to the magazine: “It’s like… shouldn’t there be transgender models on the runway? No, no, I don’t think we should do that. Why not? Because this show is a magical performance.” It’s truly mind-boggling.
The Victoria’s Secret fashion department is now largely overlooked in popular culture, but how can we forget its perfumes? Perfume can be said to be the core of its beauty products. For those who can’t find comfortable underwear in the pink-striped fitting rooms, finding a perfume that evokes a sense of suburban romance would undoubtedly be a more pleasant experience.
Victoria’s Secret perfumes have become extremely popular worldwide, almost filling every corner of every dressing table. And there are numerous styles available, allowing you to find your favorite option no matter what you like, regardless of your gender. Although I personally don’t like to label perfumes by gender, Victoria’s Secret perfumes openly showcase the feminine charm, playfulness, gracefulness and sexiness of women, praising all the qualities of women – of course, the qualities of women are everything.
I evaluated the four best-selling fragrances of Victoria’s Secret to discover why they have become highly acclaimed, nostalgic, and popular among shoppers.
1. Blockbuster

“Bombshell” is the top-selling perfume of Victoria’s Secret and is the only perfume whose bottle directly pays tribute to the iconic pink-striped handbag.
Notes:
Purple passion fruit
Shangri-La peony
Herbaceous orchid
Since this is the brand’s flagship perfume, I tried it first. In terms of scent, it’s not to my taste, but I can understand why so many people like it. It is filled with fresh white floral notes, but when mixed together, it presents a completely different smell. On me, it smells like soap, bubbles, and a hint of aquatic fragrance, just like a bubble bath.
This perfume may not be particularly stunning, but it is a decent and conventional masterpiece. It follows the classic structure of fruity, floral and vanilla notes, skillfully blending them together, making the peony the focal point of the fragrance, the passion fruit adding a touch of depth, and the vanilla playing a role in the gentle finish. The overall impression is very good. “Bombshell” is suitable for any time and any season. For both novice and experienced perfume lovers, it is a very easy-to-accept perfume.

2. Teasing

We have smelled this scent before, but it’s not entirely a bad thing. It has a rich fruity aroma, is juicy, and also has a hint of musk – which is refreshing compared to the floral scents often offered by Victoria’s Secret.
Notes:
Black Sage
Frozen Pears
Lily of the Valley
I think pear fragrance is one of the underappreciated notes in the perfume world, so I’m very glad to see a perfume centered around pears. Tease is like pears – sweet and juicy, but not overly sweet or too sweet – just right. It also adopts the structure of fruit fragrance/flower fragrance/wood fragrance/incense, but pays more attention to showcasing the fruit fragrance and lively atmosphere. This perfume gives the impression of a contemporary celebrity perfume. For most people, it might not be like that, but precisely, I really like celebrity perfumes.

3. Tease the Rebels

Tease Rebel is a spin-off brand of Tease. It inherits the style of Tease while adding a rebellious touch.
Notes:
Violet leaves
Wild rose
White leather
The floral notes of violet and rose make “Rebel Tease” tend to be overly intense, as these two floral scents usually dominate in perfumes. This perfume is no exception, but they still stand out clearly without making the fragrance feel heavy. The addition of leather further adds depth to the perfume, bringing a delightful, deep velvet texture that creates a harmonious balance with the rich floral scent. This perfume might have been disappointing originally, but it presents a very harmonious beauty. “Rebel Tease” gives off a sense of purple, haziness, and freshness. It is undoubtedly a floral-scented perfume, but it offers a refreshing interpretation of the familiar floral scents.

4. Crush

Well, this perfume called Crush is really cute. The name is perfectly chosen. Moreover, the bottle design is also very cool. It doesn’t have a bottle cap that needs to be pried open. You just need to rotate the top to see the nozzle, and it can really be sprayed directly onto the skin using a powder puff. Although it’s just a small detail, for someone like me who has countless perfumes, this detail is particularly eye-catching.
Notes:
Pink Pepper
Peony
Ashoka Flower
This perfume feels very comfortable when applied to the skin, has good longevity, and has a 90s vibe. What does that mean? I don’t know either, but it reminds me of the shiny moisturizer that came with the Barbie doll sets when I was a kid – but with that wonderful feeling. In short, it has a fruity fragrance, sweet – and a bit of a rubbery flavor? Just like the smell in my mind of Britney Spears when she wore the red PVC tight dress in the “Oops… I Did It Again” music video.
