As I mentioned in my original fall Eurotrip itinerary (in which I roughly outlined our full travel plans in London/Germany/France), I had been concerned that this part of our trip would feel disconnected or not be as successful as we had anticipated. Renting a car for the first time in Europe (which I’ll discuss in more detail later in the post) and the fact that many of the locations we marked were small and off the beaten path exacerbated my pre-trip anxiety, which of course ended up being completely unnecessary.
Looking back, we definitely would have done a few things differently (I mention those below) but all in all, I think we had a great itinerary and if you’re interested in visiting some of Germany’s most beautiful medieval sites, it would be perfect for castles and fairy tale towns.
